Home Pond

Let me share a little secret with you.

Treetops Pond, the home of all these beautiful water lilies and carefree fish, seems to float weightless on a wooden deck perched high amid the trees. But it is not weightless: water, as you know, is extremely heavy. If you look beneath the deck, beneath the artful illusion, you’ll find that Treetops Pond actually rests on a solid foundation of concrete, supported by massive steel beams.

Just so, the art of poetry, which seems to float so effortlessly above the weight of
the world, also requires a solid foundation to thrive and survive. ATLANTA REVIEW
is a rare thing in today’s world: a major international poetry journal that is completely independent and self-supporting. We do not rely on a university or a rich foundation for our support. We rely on you.

This is more than a partnership; it a friendship. All of our staff, editors and poets are volunteers, working without compensation except for the love of poetry itself.
