Home Pond
Let me share a little secret with you.
Treetops Pond, the home of all these beautiful water lilies and carefree fish, seems to float weightless on a wooden deck perched high amid the trees. But it is not weightless: water, as you know, is extremely heavy. If you look beneath the deck, beneath the artful illusion, you’ll find that Treetops Pond actually rests on a solid foundation of concrete, supported by massive steel beams.
Just so, the art of poetry, which seems to float so effortlessly above the weight
of
the world, also requires a solid foundation to thrive and survive. ATLANTA REVIEW
is a rare thing in today’s world: a major international poetry journal that is completely
independent and self-
This is more than a partnership; it a friendship. All of our staff, editors and poets are volunteers, working without compensation except for the love of poetry itself. If you too want this fresh and independent vision to survive, please join with us as a friend, and give as generously as you can. Together, we can give poetry a foundation stronger than steel: our firm commitment to support the art we love.
