ATLANTA REVIEW had a lot to celebrate on its Fifth Anniversary. In five short years, it had risen to international stature, publishing Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winners, appearing in 120 countries around the world, and winning two Pushcart Prizes. Many Atlanta Review editors had also won major national poetry competitions, a reflection of our committment to publishing real poetry selected by real poets.
This Fifth Anniversary Issue has been acclaimed as the most delicious, exotic and wildly varied of all. You'll wrestle with Mongolians, hear the singing girls in Taipei, discover a miraculous Virgin in Guatemala, and dance with the gypsies in Greece. The winners of the International Poetry Competition, with 5,000 entries from 50 countries, will dazzle you with their brilliance and variety. It's all in this glorious celebration of 5 years of real poetry for real people.
